Planning an eco-friendly wedding may seem complicated or expensive, but with the help of a sustainable wedding venue, it may be even easier than planning a “regular” wedding! Sustainable venues take advantage of the planet’s natural beauty, while partnering with vendors who keep the care of the earth a priority in their services. Here in Georgia, there are so many gorgeous venues that offer spectacular views paired with luxury amenities for a wedding that’s as chic and stylish as it is environmentally conscious. If you’re prioritizing an eco-friendly wedding, check out a sustainable wedding venue in Georgia!

This eco-friendly and certified sustainable venue is home to a cozy cottage, two distinct outdoor ceremony sites, and a totally renovated reception barn with room for up to 115 guests. The Ruins at Kellum Valley

705 Kellum Valley Road

Cleveland, GA 30528

The Ruins at Kellum Valley is one of Northeast Georgia’s most exclusive wedding venues. Hosting only 15 weddings per year, their remarkably unique features and full-service planning place them in high demand. The history of the venue dates back to 1922 when the prominent and wealthy Kellum family fell in love with the location and bought over 1,000 acres of land. The Kellums used the property as a farm and built a school and dormitory for underprivileged children.

In 1928, the school and dormitory burned, leaving behind the rustic stone formation and towering stone chimneys. After being purchased in the 1990s, The Ruins at Kellum Valley Weddings was born in 2006, and they’ve hosted over 450 all-inclusive weddings in the years since.

The venue’s iconic stone remains add a unique aesthetic to every wedding they host. Market string lights, tall trees, and rolling mountain vistas all add an inherent romance rooted in nature. It’s a venue that’s gorgeous in any season, and with the help of their exceptional planning team, all of your sustainable wedding dreams can – and will – come true.

There’s room for up to 70 people to join you as you begin the next chapter of your love story together. If you prefer to say “I do” in an outdoor wedding venue vow exchange, there is a perfectly placed sustainable arbor amidst the trees for you to gather with your friends and family.

After your ceremony, host your reception in their separate onsite event space, complete with a beautiful, cozy fireplace that makes a perfect backdrop for a sweetheart table. There is also an adjoining outdoor space with a patio that is perfect for bringing the beautiful outdoors into your celebration. Dine inside and then move your party to the patio to finish the night dancing under the stars.

Mountain Laurel Farm is a beautiful expanse of picturesque country landscape only 5 miles from Alpine Helen, GA. Their expansive property has gorgeous mountain views that are perfect for an outdoor vow exchange. The farm is home to a historic colonial farmhouse with dark hardwood floors, several indoor dining options for smaller guest lists, and a beautiful Southern front porch. Larger receptions can be hosted in the historic barn, a rustically charming space with a classic red “barn” exterior.

It’s hard to resist the allure of Mountain Laurel Farm’s bucolic charm. Luckily, they make it easy to take advantage of the scenery in a variety of ways! Whether you’re celebrating in the cozy barn or using its exterior as a rustic backdrop for an outdoor dinner party, your wedding will exude an upscale farm aesthetic. Rockmart, GA 30153

Spring Lake Events is a stunning event venue with a gorgeous lake, a rustic reception barn, and stunning sustainable grounds perfect for creating a full album of outdoor wedding photos. Then, transition your celebration into the lodge-style reception barn with large barn doors that can open up to bring in the beauty of the outdoors. Strings of market lights, chandeliers, and wooden beams wrapped in crystals and vines add even more elegance to a rustic space.
