Sometimes, the best wedding venues are the ones that are hidden in plain sight. In the heart of Atlanta, Summerour Studio is a beautiful space that balances rustic, Old World romance and modern industrial elegance in one unique space. If you’re looking for a stunning venue for your one-of-a-kind day, you should definitely consider a Summerour Studio wedding

About The Summerour Studio Wedding Venue

Summerour Studio’s industrial aesthetic has a rich history. A hundred years ago, the building itself was home to Preston Rose Printing before being reimagined with multiple uses in the decades following. In 2005, renowned architect Keith Summerour took on the task of updating the building, highlighting its unique features, and maintaining its historic charm. This one-of-a-kind venue is a beautiful balance of industrial elegance and Tuscan charm.

Today, the reputable Novare Events team manages the Summerour Studio wedding venue—one of several beautiful and versatile spaces in their portfolio. Novare Events has hosted and facilitated some of Atlanta’s most high-profile events, partnering with the city’s best event professionals. Using their team’s extensive knowledge and connections, they can help you plan an unforgettable wedding that lives up to your wildest expectations.

Details of the Grounds

Summerour Studio has both an indoor and an outdoor wedding space that can be used with versatility to create your perfect event.

When your guests arrive, they’ll enter through a beautiful walled courtyard. Despite being located in downtown Atlanta, you’ll feel transported to a Tuscan villa with rustic brick arches and columns covered in crawling ivy. Strings of bistro lights hang overhead, adding a romantic touch to the space as the sun begins to set. The cobblestone floor is reminiscent of an old-world era, a perfect finishing touch to a truly unique space.

Courtyard Ceremony

If you choose to use the courtyard for your ceremony, you and your partner can exchange vows standing on the small set of brick steps leading into the building. You’ll say “I do” against a backdrop of gray stucco walls and rich wooden doors as well as window frames adorned in strings of ivy. It’s a remarkable space full of romance, vibrancy, and texture. Perfect for an intimate ceremony surrounded by your closest friends and family.

Inside the Summerour Studio

Inside the Summerour Studio wedding venue, you’ll find an expansive wedding space that makes a big statement. With over 8,000 square feet of event space, the venue can accommodate anywhere from 50 to 425 guests! The impressive ceiling is supported by massive bow trusses that make a visual impact while also allowing the space to stand tall without columns that disrupt the open space. The ceiling is a gorgeous contrast of warm wood and steel beams for a look that’s as timeless as it is trendy.

At one end of the room, a beautiful, hand-crafted wood replica of Michelangelo’s Laurentian Library staircase makes a bold statement. It also makes the perfect entrance for a bride and wedding party should you use the indoor space for a ceremony or a grand entrance to a reception. At the other end of the room is a gorgeous built-in bar, perfect for serving your guests and keeping the drinks flowing all night long.

The studio has a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that look out into Atlanta’s downtown industrial district, with views of Atlantic Station and Midtown. It’s a beautiful contrast to the secret oasis of a courtyard that lies on the other side of the building. Bistro lights hang overhead for an extra special touch that reflects the rustic Tuscan lighting of the courtyard.

Many couples choose to host their ceremony inside Summerour Studio, dividing the spacious room with elegant drapery. Bring in a stylish arch or altarpiece adorned with your signature florals and decor for a personalized touch. Then, when you’re officially married, your guests can enjoy cocktail hour in the courtyard as the space is converted into your reception.

Getting Ready

One thing to note: there are no onsite spaces for getting ready for your wedding day. You’ll want to plan to prepare somewhere offsite with your wedding parties, like a fun nearby hotel or Airbnb.

However you decide to use the spaces at Summerour Studio, your wedding will be elegant, romantic, and totally unique.

Photography Opportunities

Summerour Studio is an incredible venue for stunning wedding photos. The courtyard is a gorgeous backdrop for romantic portraits in front of the lush climbing ivy. In the fall, the ivy takes on beautiful autumnal colors for a cozy, seasonal aesthetic. Brick walls and arches, secluded paths, and vibrant landscaping all make for exceptional pictures full of greenery and natural beauty. Inside Summerour Studio, we can use the Michelangelo-inspired staircase for elegant pictures with your partner or your wedding parties. Your wedding album will be full of photos that balance industrial elegance and garden glamor. It’s just as beautiful and dynamic as your love story.
