About The Blue Mountain Vineyards Wedding Venue

Blue Mountain Vineyards is minutes away from the historic town of Dahlonega, Georgia. It is a perfectly quaint and sweet town where your guests can easily find comfortable accommodations. Since its humble beginnings, Blue Mountain Vineyards has been a family-owned business. Founded back when two families came together to plant vineyards on a family property. The Tardonia family soon welcomed a new daughter-in-law, Jessica, when she married their son, Teddy. Right in the same place on the property where they now host hundreds of weddings.

With Jessica’s background in event planning and Teddy’s dedication to working hard, they turned the property into an event space. Built with their own hard work, labor, and imagination. Today they work together as husband and wife, helping other couples say “I do” in the same spot they did. Welcoming each new couple into their family as they share the same mountainside where their next chapter began.

After years of growth, resilience, and patience, the gorgeous venue now offers an open-air ceremony site and a 5,000-square-foot event barn perfect for hosting a wedding ceremony or reception. And with years of experience transforming their property into other couples’ dream wedding settings, they know exactly how to help you bring your wedding vision to life, too.

Details of the Grounds

To start your wedding day, you can gather with your bridal party and close family in the 300-square-foot bridal suite. This suite lives nestled into a loft in the event barn. With sweet rustic touches, lots of rich wooden accents, and comfortable furniture, it’s a cozy spot!

While you can absolutely hold your ceremony in the event barn (and it makes a great Plan B space in case it rains,) it is hard to resist their open-air ceremony site that overlooks the vineyards and the distant mountaintops. In spring and summer months, the surrounding trees are vibrant and green, and late fall starts to see the leaves turn beautiful hues of red and amber for a truly autumnal vibe.

You’ll have the option to use either a large arbor, a cross, or wine barrels at your altar to help set the scene and frame your romantic vow exchange. You can also bring in your own decorative element, add drapery or your wedding florals to your altar, or simply let the mountains and trees around you be your decor.

The Barn

The Blue Mountain Vineyards event barn accommodates up to 250 guests. Sitting atop a hill and overlooking the vineyard and ceremony site, it’s a beacon of all of the hard work and passion that went into this property and the weddings that it has hosted since its opening. The barn is like a work of art, with thirty-foot ceilings, an eye-catching stone fireplace (that makes a perfect backdrop for a sweetheart table or a head table), and a live-edge black walnut bar.

The barn is elegantly rustic and neutral enough for you to bring in your own personal wedding aesthetic. Whether you’re envisioning chalkboard signs and wildflower centerpieces in mason jars or towering floral arrangements set beside tall taper candles and tealights, the barn is the ideal space for your wedding dreams to become a reality. Elegant white drapery can also be installed in the barn for your wedding. Adding a little extra drama and a big romantic impact (for an additional fee.)

Photography Opportunities

The highlight of Blue Mountain Vineyards is its spectacular property, including the three acres of vines planted on the hillside just beyond the barn. These gorgeous vines are perfect for romantic portraits that are whimsical, rustic, and romantic. Perfect for wine enthusiasts and anyone who can appreciate a gorgeous landscape. Throughout the property, we can use landscaping, trees, and of course, the breathtaking views as photo backdrops, too. The front porch of the event barn is the perfect location for an intimate, emotional first look, and the beautiful lighting in the barn itself is great for candid pictures of you and your guests throughout your celebration.

Wedding Details

Blue Mountain Vineyard offers several wedding packages that vary based on how much you need (or want) to be included. And, of course, your budget. Regardless of the package, however, you’ll have the help of a month-of coordinator and a day-of director to make sure that every detail has been thought through and is perfectly executed on your wedding day.

The only vendor you are required to use is one of their preferred caterers. But with a list of 6 to choose from, you’ll be able to find the exact kind of cuisine that you want for your first meal as a married couple.

Your wedding package will also include seating and tables for up to 250 guests, including ten spectacular farmhouse tables that were designed and built on the property by the Tardonia family.

A few things to note that you’ll need to plan on providing. If you’re planning on serving liquor, then you’ll need to hire one bartender for every 75 guests attending. You’ll also need to secure liability insurance. Also, make sure that you’re renting round table linens for any round tables you use.
