The Samuel J. Cadden Chapel is a gorgeous space of worship that welcomes couples of all religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and affiliations. Named in honor of a former Clemson student, the Cadden Chapel is a new addition to the campus. It opened its doors in 2022 and has welcomed students, community members, alums, and faculty ever since.
The Cadden Chapel’s architecture is extraordinary, with soaring ceilings lined with wooden beams and rich brick columns. Floor-to-ceiling windows on almost every wall fill the space with floods of natural light, looking out over the surrounding campus and trees. Beautiful wooden pews sit on either side of a distinguished aisle, with room to accommodate up to 120 guests. The chapel was also recognized as an outstanding new facility for international religious architecture as part of the 2022 Faith & Form Awards Program.
Since its recent opening just over a year ago, The Cadden Chapel has become a highly popular location for gorgeous wedding ceremonies. When you book your event, you’ll be able to host a rehearsal on the Friday evening before your wedding, and you’ll have up to 5 hours in the space on your wedding day. Someone will be available to help you coordinate before your event, and basic staff will be in the building on the day of your wedding.
The Cadden Chapel is a stunning way to incorporate Clemson into your wedding day, regardless of your religious affiliation.

About five miles down the road from Clemson’s campus is the Clemson University Outdoor Lab. It’s a beautiful open space with the facilities to host meetings, business team adventures, camps, and weddings. Home to eight venues and even a few overnight accommodations, it’s a great place to come together and enjoy the great outdoors.
Hosting your wedding at the Outdoor Lab is the perfect opportunity to create a true experience out of your wedding celebrations. A little more on the rustic side of the wedding spectrum, Kresge Hall offers beautiful views of Lake Hartwell. Your guests can enjoy the breathtaking scenery from a covered wrap-around porch or the lakeside patio. Kresge Hall also has a cozy indoor fireplace to warm up the space as the sun begins to set. You’ll also have access to a cozy bridal suite cabin to get ready for your wedding.
Another venue option at the Outdoor Lab is the Cannon Chapel Pavilion and Amphitheater. This space includes a cozy covered pavilion and a beautiful stone amphitheater perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception.
In addition to hosting beautiful events, The Outdoor Lab also includes amenities such as an outdoor fire pit, beautiful trails, and other outdoor activities. Your guests can take advantage of a peaceful pontoon boat ride or canoe rentals for an additional charge. Or, throw a welcome pool party by renting out the pool and waterslides for an enjoyable time!

The South Carolina Botanical Garden (SCBG) was designated as the State’s botanical garden in 1992, though it was a respite for lovers of the outdoors and garden enthusiasts for many years prior. Today, the gardens cover 295 acres of cultivated landscapes and beautiful woodlands, creating a stunning location for a dreamy, romantic wedding.
One of the best parts about hosting a wedding at the SCBG is how gorgeous it is in any season. The garden erupts in vibrant greenery and budding flowers in late May that thrive and change seasonally throughout the summer. In the fall, the surrounding leaves turn to their beautiful reds, oranges, and gold, creating an autumnal wonderland.
The SCBG has several venue spaces available for a wedding, both indoors and outdoors (though their indoor spaces are better for intimate weddings of under 50 guests.) Plus, the real beauty of the space lies outside. Consider the Xeriscape Garden, a semi-formal lawn area with a wooden arch surrounded by lush greenery. The Heritage Amphitheatre is another excellent option, with terraced seating nestled into a woodland setting. It’s the perfect space for a grand wedding ceremony, with room for up to 400 seated guests.
